Dear Solid Rock Family:
We are moving along with the SRCC re-opening team discussing the logistical and operational considerations of re-opening the church for worship services and meetings each week. We have moved the pews out of the sanctuary and replacing them with chairs.
We are following best practices for churches as we plan our re-opening. The concerns about the coronavirus are still important to us as we plan for reopening. Your health and welfare are at the forefront of our discussions. We are also aware that COVID-19 disproportionately affects people of color in our southeast community more so than other populations, and for this reason, we are exercising due diligence to keep our congregation safe.
We are still praying and following the direction of the Holy Spirit. As a congregation we will be careful, cautious, and considerate of our neighbors by wearing masks when in the church building and keeping social distancing protocols according to the Centers for the Disease Control guidelines and to the best of our ability.
A survey has been created to aid us in planning for Sunday services. SRCC is tentatively planning to resume in-person services July 19, 2020 with some of the following conditions: CDC safe socializing standards (temperature check, mask, 6-ft distancing, no handshakes or hugs), no after-service food, NO YOUTH CHURCH/NO NURSERY, household must sit together, required weekly reservation/reserved seating by Friday prior to each Sunday. Please fill out the survey and return it.
Please know that you are loved and are being prayed for. Pastor Wanda and I miss you greatly and we look forward to being able to gather again very soon, with your safety at the forefront of our hearts and minds.
May God watch over you and your loved ones, and may you experience a greater measure of His presence during this time. Thanks.
Pastor’s Ben and Wanda
